Low viewport FPS problem

If I do not open any foreground window and directly operate the editor, the fps of the viewport will be low and become stuck one after another.

If you open a window in front, the fps of the background viewport will change to 60 set by the editor, which is very smooth.

I don’t know why these strange problems occur.
My computer is 12900 + 4080
The driver is geforce game ready 581.80
The system is win11

this also happens to me

  1. try and disable the default C# script on the camera ( it allows to control the game with mouse from the start )

this allows you to move the mouse without it being ’ stuck ’ in the play window

  1. move the mouse cursor to say the icons at the top of the engine

  2. click to see FPS in the editor

moving the mouse to not be in the game world lowers the frames per seconds rather drastically

EDIT : remove this first

whoops, or have tried to recreate this, and after cleaning my computer system, and the fan was covered in dust, or this doesn’t happen

it used to lower the FPS from 60 FPS to something like 30 FPS because my graphics card was over heated, or there was too much dust in my system, and now that doesn’t happen, etc

:open_mouth:

After another experiment, I found that the reason was that the material window could not be opened. After the material window was closed, the viewport became smooth…

not sure this is why, or however have noticed when opening other programs, and my graphics card is struggling with two programs that Flax Engine somehow auto - lowers to 30 FPS in the editor, or then goes back to 60 FPS when return to the program

think perhaps it has to do with certain power settings that depend on my graphics card, and that Windows make background systems run slower if they’re very 3D intensive, or not sure it’s something like that to save power from rendering a ton of advanced stuff

?!??
