Looking like it’s progressing, What’s the setup like? Realitime/baked shadows, probes, etc.
right now it’s all real time and dynamic shadows, i am having issues with baking lightmaps, but if I figure it out, I am switching to static shadows, since static or baked lightmaps are way better for performance.
also for optimization, lights are only enabled in active level. The game has 7 levels. That improves performance a lot!
I forgot to mention environment probes, each level has its own baked env probe.
What are the issues with baking shadows? question 2: Realtime Probes?
I don’t think i can use static, but after some research using Global SDF also helps shadow performance too.
i don’t actually know, baking shadows just doesn’t work for me, i have never done it before on any engine.
But, the good news is that my game is already well optimized even with dynamic shadows, because only lights in active level are enabled.
I use baked environment probes.
