Arctic (working title) is a short retro-survival horror game made in Flax by Gasimo and Saas

Navigate a desolate snowscape in your lone vehicle, keep your systems running, and unravel unsettling clues about the last expedition in this short retro survival horror experience.

Project Arctic - 01/07/2025 Flax Preview

You’re humanity’s only boots on the ground.,

A frozen wasteland stretches endlessly before you. Sent to a remote Antarctic region, you’re tasked with a critical mission: assess its habitability for future colonization. Alone in your snow exploration vehicle, you must manage resources, document key sites, and survive long enough to finish the job and return home.

The Machine,

Your vehicle is more than a means of transport—it’s your shelter, your furnace, your last line of defense. Outfitted with a mechanical arm and vital instrumentation, it’s your most valuable tool in the snow. Keep it running, keep it warm, and it might carry you just far enough.

Our tech stack is:

• Engine: Flax Custom build (Large World Support Mode),
• Audio: FMod,
• Camera Management: CineBlend,
• Player Physics (KCC) by @Zode,
• Saving System (Grabs all ISabeable objects in the world, ensures they have unique persistent GUIDs and loads/saves them on-demand into an Dictionary<string, <Dictionary<string, object>> which is then put into a Json string), We heavily utilize Flax’s custom materials graphs, those are awesome. Models are either offsourced from licensed packs or hand-made in Blender and Substance

Audio is made in Presonus Studio One

this looks totally incredible

10 review for almost everything also

note : the scanner reminds me of the ultra cool - tech from the Aliens movies, or then somehow also Ghostbusters, and not sure you know of Fallout - series where they have these on the arm devices that also work for levelling up, or that you somehow have a total classic to even get started, etc

– Aliens is amazing

– the effects are too cool

– somehow the blend of horror, and then almost pop corn - theater is among the best ever, and you’ve somehow captured that in almost a demo

@waithxn it says twice in the OP that it runs in the wonderful Flax Engine

note : Gasimo, and Saas are two amazing coders that actually help to make the program even better, or they’re sort of more than gifted contributors, and judging from the video game - trailer they’ve added here they also have great taste, or are sort of brilliant at putting together very serious drama

atm only have Playstation to try this video game, and however everything rocks from the way it looks, or then that horror is very difficult to get right, and sort of a dystopian look at least, or that it’s actually very talented artists that have created this genius masterpiece
