I’m an indie developer currently exploring Flax Engine to create a lightweight 2D mobile game for Android. After spending some time with it, I’ve been really impressed by how efficient and developer-friendly Flax is, especially when it comes to building for Android.
About the Project:
- Game Title: Pixel Rush: Shadows
- Genre: High-speed platformer
- Engine: Flax Engine
- Language: C#
- Target Platform: Android (APK build)
Once I completed the beta version, I wanted to share it with testers outside of Google Play to get feedback quickly. That’s when I discovered HeyApks.com — a simple and reliable platform for uploading and distributing APK files.
Using Flax Engine + HeyApks.com:
- Flax exports APKs seamlessly (I only had to tweak a few Android SDK settings).
- I uploaded the APK to HeyApks for easy sharing with testers.
- The site lets you add descriptions, screenshots, and manage updates with ease.
- I could track downloads and gather feedback without needing to go through Google Play’s more complex beta system.

If you’re developing Android games with Flax, I highly recommend trying this method. It’s especially useful during early testing phases before official release.
If anyone else has experience distributing APKs or tips for optimizing Android builds in Flax, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Big thanks to the Flax Engine team for such a powerful and enjoyable tool!
