For example, if you drag a material to the model in the scene and drag it to the material bar in the properties on the right, a red forbidden icon will be displayed.
Even when the imported model is dragged into the scene, the icon is red.
I don’t know where the problem is.
is there a way you could record a video with OBS ( screen recorder ), or then something like screen2gif to make an animated gif ( think max limit here is 10 mb for uploading new content ), and last try and capture this bug with a phone camera, or get a video using a mobile device
this doesn’t happen to me, and that has never happened to me on Windows 11 something like ever, or from what know it’s not because of Flax Engine, etc
#thx, or this sounds very interesting to solve these errors
Thank you!
Now I know what the problem is
Because I named the material and model with Chinese names.
Just change it to English.
PS: Chinese users are eager to support Chinese and Chinese language packs for the interface. .
from what know there’s no one working on the engine that knows chinese, or that it’s the entire engine documentation that needs to be translated, and not just the letters in the engine itself, or sort of when one starts the program
it’s also that the engine isn’t making a ton of money directly based on how few video games one sees for instance on Playstation that runs the application, and that it’s gonna take finding volunteers, or ’ Flax Engine enthusiasts ’ to get this done, and they’d much rather add cool new features than learn chinese for the sake of a few users in another country, or not sure how many actually use the program in that country, etc
– there needs to be quite a few chinese users for this to make sense
– perhaps it’ll take volunteers, or that hiring pro - translators is prob. gonna take at least a month of work, and then to re hire them when making a new edition of the engine ( 1,12 Flax, 1.13 Flax, etc etc )
perhaps try and write them anyway, and they’re really nice, or except not sure they even have the money for this, and it’d take them stopping working on the engine itself, or to add new graphics, and code that also benefit the people that are learning the application
Well, maybe therr are too few chinese users . I am studying from the documentation and also trying to use flax to develop a small rpg game.
Because of Unity’s current discriminatory separation policy in China, Flax may actually have a lot of room for development in China, but this may require a huge organization to operate.
I hope Flax gets better and better and can be as easy to use as UE.
what think is the answer, and that Flax Engine only makes 4 % revenue if a video game makes 1 million $$$$ every year, and it’s only the biggest AAA - projects on the Playstation, or Xbox that makes that much money
Flax Engine is prob. gonna get chinese language support if
-
a very succesful group of devs create a video game that makes that much money
-
there’s something like 25 - 50 regular fans from China that writes to find volunteers that actually know how to re write everything to another language
-
that it gets very popular in art schools, or perhaps in something like hard core simulations in colleges, and where it’s almost necessary to add that support for the sake of researchers
-
perhaps there’s a way to use ’ AI translation systems ’ to make a really good translations automatically, and that it’d not be that difficult for people at the engine to maintain, or perhaps also quite a few other languages, and say arab, spanish, french, african languages, etc
The interface is okay, there are many translation tools that are easy to use, and commonly used words are not too difficult to understand.
But for example, the problem I encountered above is that non-English names cannot be dragged. It should only be modified at the bottom of the engine.
It’s a pity that my C++ is not very good, otherwise I might try to modify the submission myself…
Overall, I hope it will get better and better. I have established a Flax engine section in the Chinese user community Baidu, and I am doing my best to promote it. I hope to have the opportunity to make the contribution I can.
