I'm Glad Flax Doesn't Have AI Assisted Coding

Unity will soon be used to spread AI trash around the game industry landscape as those managing Unity want to “empower non-coders”.

Godot is having huge problems right now with AI slop being submitted for the engine’s code base and maintainers have to go through and weed all the garbage out.

AI can’t code worth a darn! If a human writes complex code, about 2000 lines of code, and you ask an AI to do the same thing the AI may export something that is around 20,000 lines of code and is very verbose. It will have variables in the code which aren’t needed, which uses up more RAM, and it may not even compile as AI can’t do math. AI has been made to treat everything, even mathematical equations, as structuring a sentence to be grammatically correct. It doesn’t do math and is not a calculator. This is why AI get’s math questions wrong. Having something as messed up like AI code for you is a big mistake. And then trying to maintain an AI’s code is a nightmare. You’re much better off writing it yourself.

I feel allowing people to use AI to make games/apps is the same as allowing people who aren’t engineers to design and construct buildings. I think only serious problems will come from it.

can’t think of how this could be actual worth a dang, etc

– art sort of has to be made by people for it even to be valuable art, or somehow when people tell a story, and get theater - people together that it’s sort of a gift from them to the audience, and that’s why it even matters to make video games, or somehow people admire artists that run on ’ authenticity ', and then also have ’ noble ideas ’ to share where none of that matters if it’s a machine

– people get more sort of detached from life, or sort of what happens to other people because of technology, and that’s not a good thing, or having AI - machines make what’s on television is another step in the direction of a world ’ where there’s no one else around ', and everyone is gonna live in something their own cubicle in the Matrix with no real contact to other people

  1. no personal contact, or ’ feelings are illegal ', and to share of good news, or hype

  2. somehow ’ nihilism for the masses ’ could happen this way

  3. certain corporations might make a ton of money from this progress, or however to do much damage to the world, and sort of ’ what people deserve ', or quality of life, etc

somehow AI has a ton of promise, or then also makes rather cool stuff if people check the results, and however it’s several wrong steps into a dystopian madness that could do much wrong, or perhaps the two most ultimate truths are ’ that all people should matter ', and then also ’ we only realize ourselves when we work together ', or somehow AI gets in the way of that, and in a more basic sense people being friends at all

?!??
